Quick Sketch #4 – Pocahontas

Manamations Animation Studio | Melbourne - Australia

Welcome to Quick Sketch Episode 4. Today we are sketching Disney’s Pocahontas. You can view the video below.

Pocahontas - Quick Sketch #4

Pocahontas, meaning “Little Mischief”, is based off a true historical figure born of  Native American origin. Supervising Animator Glen Keane, designed the character after Native American voice actress Irene Bedard. The design, in my opinion, is complex yet simple at the same time, with basic shapes and long flowing lines for the hair. One of my favourite designs.

Tools used:

This Quick Sketch is done using Sketch Book Pro. A really great software from Autodesk which makes sketching fun and easy and a Wacom Tablet.
